WEATHER REVIEWS

Just blue sky

New York City, September 5, 2024

★★★★ The terrible electrical whine that came in with the fresh night air went away at some point, leaving the quiet dawn in which to remember what needed to be packed for school. Out in the day, the breeze brought a little chill to the knees and the sun pressed a little heat onto the back of the neck. Balloon clusters framed the neighborhood schoolyard gate, and welcome-back banners lifted and fell. A gangly puppy pranced in a cloud of weed smoke on the sidewalk. A woman walking down the block held a speakerphone call that carried all the way the living room couch. The late sun got into the leaves of the honeylocust and held on.
